Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor Meets With Displaced Persons in Ifa Atai, Uyo.

Today, the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Sir Moses Ekpo visited the people of Ifa Atai Etoi of Uyo LGA, who were residents in Cameron and were victims of attack by militant group operating within the water ways of Mbo LGA.

In his speech, he consoled those that lost the lives of their loved ones during the unfortunate incident. Speaking on behalf of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ekenedue Iwok whose office supervises Emergency Management and Interventions assured them of speedy intervention by the State Government to ensure that they return to their various businesses.

Also in the entourage of the Deputy Governor as representative from Uyo Local Government Council, was the Supervisor For Works Uyo LGA who is also the State Publicity Secretary Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus, Mr. Linus Effiong, he appreciated the youths and the Village Council of Chiefs for maintaining peace and order even in the face of cruel adversity. He further advised them to stay calm as the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Udom Emmanuel is a government that listens to the yearnings of the masses and provide succour accordingly. Moreso, Mr Effiong appreciated the Executive Chairman of the Local Government Elder (Hon) Imoh Okon who had earlier visited the displaced persons and the community.

In a vote of thanks, Hon Idorenyin Umoh, a Special Adviser on Political and Culture in Uyo LGA, who is also an indigene of the community appreciated the office of the Deputy Governor for prompt response on the matter and assured them of continued partnership to liberate the displaced persons in the community.

Also in attendance was the Chairman Etoi Clan Council, the Council of Chiefs of Ifa Atai, and the youth leader of the community Mr. Etido Umoh aka Black.
